ilina is one of the biggest cities in the Slovak Republic and a centre of the North-Western Slovakia. Its direct surrounding offers excellent opportunities for summer and winter tourism, because the ilina basin is located under the mountain ranges of Malá Fatra, Stráovské vrchy, Súžovské vrchy, Javorníky and Kysucká vrchovina.
